The Ritz Room


The Ritz Room is situated at the Mayfair Hotel, St Saviours Road, St Helier.  This elegant function suite with its own individual style and character has the capacity to accommodate comfortably between 50 to 120 guests for a sit down meal.  In the privacy of this room there is a full cash bar facility entirely for the use of your guests.

There is also a stage area and a dance floor, which will accommodate your choice of entertainment whether you choose to have a Band or a DJ.

The Garden Room

The Garden Room is situated at the Hotel Metropole, Roseville Street, St Helier.  This delightful function suite is a good choice of venue if you are planning a more intimate gathering. It is a lovely quiet room adjacent to the Metropole gardens and away from the hubbub of the main hotel.

In the privacy of this room there is also a full cash bar facility and a dance floor that is suitable for a DJ or a Singer/Duo to entertain your guests.  The Garden Room accommodates between 20 to 60 guests for a sit down meal.

Wedding Checklist

After the Engagement

Choose the date and decide on a Church or Registrar Wedding
Book the Church/Registrar
Compile a guest list with both sets of parents
Work out a budget
Select the Reception venue
Book a photographer and a videographer
Organise your Wedding Cake
Choose the Bridesmaids, Best Man and Ushers
Organise your wedding clothes and those of your attendants
Start looking at honeymoon brochures

Three months before the Wedding

Plan and organise a list of wedding presents
Choose your Wedding rings
Consult the Clergyman/Registrar about music, fee, reading, etc
Order invitations and envelopes
Order your printed Wedding stationery: order of service sheets, place cards,
menus, cake boxes, serviettes, etc
Book transport
Buy your going away and honeymoon clothes
Book your honeymoon and arrange any visas and vaccinations
If you are planning to change your name, allow at least six weeks for a new passport - notify
your bank, building society, doctor, etc
Send out invitations at least six weeks before the day and make a list of replies as they come in
Buy presents for your attendants, Best Man, etc
Organise all your wedding flowers
Confirm your decision on food and drinks with the hotel

One month before your Wedding

Check that your fiancé has chosen the Ushers
Arrange to be present on at least one occasion when the banns are read
Send thank you letter for presents as they arrive
Give the final number of guests to the hotel and work out a seating plan if necessary
Go to the hairdresser with your head-dress to decide on the most suitable hairstyle for the day
Practise your make-up
Check that your fiancé has organised the rings and his clothes
Finalise the details of your honeymoon - order travellers cheques
Book a first night hotel if necessary
Organise Wedding insurance
Check all your Wedding clothes and try the whole outfit together,
including the underwear and shoes
Have a full rehearsal of the Wedding if possible and time your journey accordingly
Arrange to have your honeymoon luggage sent to the Reception venue
Have a night out with your girlfriends!!
