Jersey

Jersey is the largest of the Channel Islands situated just 19 miles from the French coast and 85 miles south of the English coast. It is only 5 miles long and 9 miles wide and made up of 12 parishes. English is the main language spoken. Although no VAT is paid in Jersey a 5% goods and services tax (GST) is paid on certain goods. Jersey is self governing and has its own financial and legal systems and its own court of law. Jersey is a British Crown Dependency represented by the UK government. The Lieutenant-Governor of Jersey is the personal representative of Her Majesty the Queen here in the Island.

Directions

From the airport take the 1st exit and follow the B36 to the roundabout past the Jersey Bowl on the right-hand side. At the next junction take the 2nd exit and follow the A12 which is marked with signs to St. Helier. At the foot of the hill guests will arrive at a junction. Then take a left onto the A1 going towards St. Helier, along the A2 and in the same direction as before. Continue on the dual carriageway through the tunnel to the roundabout. Drive through the tunnel and head down Green Street B79. Turn right and then left down St. James Street and continue on St. Saviours Road. Turn left onto Brooklyn Street and the hotel is on the right hand side of this road.
From the harbour go past the 1st roundabout. At the next larger roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto the La Route de la Libération ramp to tunnel. Merge onto La Route de la Libération. Slight left onto La Route du Fort. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Green St. Continue onto Grenville St. Turn right onto Snow Hill. Take the 1st right to stay on Snow Hill. Slight left onto La Motte St. La Motte St turns slightly left and becomes St. Saviour's Rd. Turn left onto Brooklyn St.
